Artist Statement
Hot Flashes and Menopaussibilities was designed to offer hope, humor, camaraderie, information and fun to others in this transitional stage of one’s life. We chose the language specifically to include words, which are associated with aging women and sometimes carry prejudicial innuendoes. Our intention was to balance negative/positive views and ancient/current language. A 28,000 year-old fertility goddess seemed the perfect image to encompass all of womankind. We invite other women to join us in throwing out the old taboos and celebrating the possibilities of menopause.
