Artist Statement
For my sculpture book series “Found Titles,” books become both my subject and my medium. I have selected obscure used books and crafted them into sculptural objects, keeping in tact its formal connotations while renewing its significance through the search for associative reinterpretation.
So Much To Be Done (Found Titles series) was created from a book of the same title about the life of early women settlers in the 19th century American West. By re-activating the original context of this book through my process, I am attempting to uncover the parallel roles and experience of women in the world today.All images and text copyright the artist.
