Artist Statement

My work in photography has many facets. I work only in historical materials, presently with the wet plate collodion process. The picture in this show is a wet plate tintype titled: Dundee NY #1. It’s a picture about this place where man lives thoughtfully on the landscape.

My wet plate work is about the textural qualities in the process. I am interested in the natural flaws too which help create the final plate. This plate is made with a stereo camera but I’m not interested in viewing my stereo pieces with a viewer.

Artist Biography

I received BS degree and MFA degree from the University of Oregon. I have taught photography and ceramic at the university level and I have performed workshops in both fields.
