This was one of the first successful photos I made after studying with Ansel Adams. It is typical of the vision I had of ideal, unspoiled landscapes. It is located in a side canyon of the Grand Canyon, and is one of a set of images published in Lenswork #59 in 2005. The gravure print was made almost 20 years after the negative was made.
Artist Biography
Stu Levy lives in Portland, Oregon, and teaches photography workshops on the Oregon Coast. Some of the institutions that have collected his photos are the Center for Creative Photography, the George Eastman House, the Portland Art Museum and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
