Working primarily with alternative processes, Eric Mertens has recently concentrated with the daguerreotype process. After graduating from CCAC with a degree in Photography, he started a daguerreotype portrait studio, TheDagLab, where he makes authentic one-of-a-kind daguerreotype portraits following the 19th century techniques.
Artist Biography
Although Eric originally focused on ambrotypes, his true passion is the daguerreotype. The daguerreotype, by its nature, helps expose an honest and personal side of both artist and subject.
