Having emerged from the introduction of loss, For Many Steps I Followed You is based on a dream I had of my grandmother last year. It is my way of incorporating a trait I inherited from her (the faux hair binding) and capturing what my dream world was able to express more than reality. Although the entire meaning behind the work is rather private, it would have tickled and intrigued her to be celebrated in this form; she had such a lively, pioneering spirit. I miss my grandmother immensely and am pleased to be able to honor her essence through form and repetition. Materials used: cardboard, paper, fabric, beeswax, insect, acetate, hair, paint, text.
