Death, rebirth, love and loss are reoccurring themes in my one-of-a-kind artist’s books. Dreams, notes from my journals, dictionary definitions, and poetry serve as text threads weaving through pages of photographs, collage, and paint.
In the fall of 2006 I read an article on dissociation. The author, a therapist, pointed out that early emotional trauma can cause the individual to bury the experience so deeply it will not be remembered. If not brought to consciousness, the psyche cannot heal.
What experience might I be blocking? This book, Dissociation, is the result of my exploration.
