The sculptural book objects I am presenting are from a series I have been working on, which explores the book form as an intimate object that has a sequential narrative. These three book forms represent the culmination of playing with materials that have various levels of transparency. Glass, mica and vellum are all used in different combinations to create layers that both obscure and reveal.
Many of my artworks offer reflections based on my own narrative of why and where we end up in life; is it luck, fate or the result of choice? Sometimes the meaning is quite clear and at other times, oblique.Artist Biography
Holly Hanessian has exhibited her work in nationally and internationally including China, Auckland, New Zealand and Italy. Her artwork has been published most recently in the book, Altered Pages by Gabe Cyr. Hanessian is an Associate of Art at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL.
