In my works, I create mysteries for the viewer to unfold, secrets to be revealed, and puzzles to untangle.
Underlined Baedecker - While working at a library, I ran across a Baedekers Travel Guide for Northern Germany from the 1920s that had been used before being donated to the library. The original owner of the book had underlined in red locations and points of interest that were either planned or visited during their tour. I became fascinated by the random collection of words and phrases and digitally removed them from the rest of the text, exposing a form of concrete poetry across the page.

Andrew Huot has been making artist books the since 1990. He also works in conservation and has taught book arts workshops for organizations such as Portland State University, the Independent Publishing Resource Center, and the University of Pennsylvania. Andrew is currently the Vice-President of the Guild of Book Workers.
