Artist books are a creative passion for me. There is not a central theme or structure present in my bookworks but instead each book has its own voice. A voice that comes from the message and directs the structure and materials. Content is inspired by fact, fiction, humor, rumor, and life’s experiences. Three books entered in Secrets and Lies were chosen as their content relates to or circles around the theme.
They Said, a quilted book, is a journey filled with denial, lies, fears, hopes and hard to face truths surrounding breast cancer. My journey printed on one-side compliments facts provided by 64 women printed on the other. There are eight panels plus cover in an edition of eight.
Blessing Bowl, is a book of blessings. While neither secrets nor lies, they make me smile often and help me delude myself into thinking life is good. Letterpress printed blessings attach to an accordion fold structure that when opened overlap and fill the bowl.Artist Biography
