Artist Statement

I love art. I love making things. I love painting and putting things together. I love it when ideas and inspirations come. I love the magic of the process of receiving an idea or an image and making it concrete in some way so that it can come to life.

I make paintings, two- and three- dimensional construction/assemblages, and handmade books that tell stories, transcribe sleeping or waking dreams, and embody images arising from poetic or mystical texts. Thoughts become transformed into resonant visual forms. I work on a small scale because it feels right to me and because I love the idea of the reader’s (in the case of the visual books) being able to cradle my objects in the palm of their hand or upon their lap.
