A Date With Robbie: This book from cj grossman’s Safe Sex Series, tells the story of a female who thinks she is sleeping only with Robbie, but finds out the ramifications go far beyond. Set in the context of Robbie’s wallet, filled with phone numbers (including those in a condom sewn on the front of the book), it is a new way to talk about safe sex.
Girl On A Date: cj grossman continues her Safe Sex Series with this little purse from a young girl filled with books that portray her wrestling with the question of whether to sleep with a boy. Still caught up in girly things, she confronts her own typical ideas of what people say about having sex on the first date, just as she wonders what the boy will think of her.
Artist Biography
cj grossman has an MFA from California College of the Arts and exhibits nationally. She teaches book arts to adults and children, as well as specialized workshops for educators. She is known for her distincitve papercuts and making books out of unusual objects and mixed media.
