The Assignment

A self assigned project based on the works of French film director Agnes Varda, the book arts of William Kentridge, the lucky find of a set of old psychology textbooks, the love of creating monotypes, and a long ago college art assignment to look at films for compositional references.

Artist Statement

This project started with the Beaches of Agnes, a retrospective film by Agnes Varda. Her originality inspired me to use monotypes to condense her films into book form. After Cleo, 5 to 7 is my first book and I am working on After The Gleaners and I, the second book in this series of four.
