Observation: Green and Toronto

David Brame is a Lo-fi Situationist Cultural Cartographer. This series explores common spaces using accessible forms of communication e.g. the drawn, low-fidelity image. This work is representative of Observation. He records his observations within handmade sketch diaries and travelogues presenting each observation as visual documentation of universal spectacles that transcend location and social class. These spectacles often revolve around mundane activities, suburban and urban sprawl, and the Situationist ideological space. Each drawing is produced in a naive manner to create a more immersive experience for the viewer. The diary acts as a conduit of intimacy, often seen as a private tone, David allows his audience into his inner most thoughts. This entrance into the sanctity of the diary heightens each spectacle as an intimate conversation between the artist and audience.
