Poem

I wanted to work with ceramic and textual materials in a way that would let both determine the work’s form and content. This brought me to the vocabulary of clay and pottery-making, and to bowls, which both contain and invite content, suggesting an analogy with how words contain and invite meaning. The poem’s two “stanzas” can be placed either side by side or one inside the other.

Bisque-fired, unglazed white earthenware. 2011. Unique.
