About the Artists

Mark Owens goes into words and letters like a man looking for his keys. His artwork has been exhibited in Guadalajara, Mexico; Dayton, Ohio; Northampton, Massachusetts; Seattle, Washington; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Portland, Oregon. He works as a therapist in Portland. He is married to Maria and hears her dreams in the morning.

Maria José Gonzalez Arredondo sews poems into shadows, pillows, and street corners. She was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her works have been performed and exhibited in her home town and Portland. Her dreams usually combine places in her home town with places in Mexico, Montreal, Portland, and/or Oregon.
