Prague Stenciled Graffiti

My initial disappointment upon seeing the profusion of graffiti that covered the lovely and historic city of Prague gradually turned to creative interest as I learned how recently the citizens had gained their freedom from Communism.

I chose to focus, not on the freehand scrawls throughout the city, but the skillfully executed stenciled graffiti. Each day I walked the city with my camera, seeking these unexpected artistic signposts. I decided to record these images in a book small enough to hold in your hand yet broad enough to give you the big picture of a city now free after centuries of oppression.
