With the title and materials in mind, I endeavored to make a book that would have the elegance and open-ended complexity of a miniature museum. The book is designed as a three-dimensional stage set, inviting the reader to build and curate exhibits with the objects carefully stored within its pages. A glass door folds down to form the mirrored floor of the space, and allows access to an array of half-inch cubes. The cubes are not only puzzles but building blocks, which can combine with concealed brass rods, as well as wood and aluminum planes from a second compartment.
