Blessing Bowl

Inspired by Buddhist monks (bhikkhus) who live dependent on the alms or blessings placed in their bowl, Blessing Bowl is a book of simple pleasures offered and received as part of daily life. Though most are not grandiose, they fill my beggar’s bowl. Using a circular flag book concertina structure the book unfolds, wraps around and comes together in the shape of a bowl. Some blessings appear upside down, but
as the bowl is turned all are able to be read at some point.

Letterpress printed on Strathmore and Neenah Classic papers, contained in a box that becomes its base for display. 5 x 4 x 2 inches. 2007. Edition of 25.
