Every year since my husband and I registered to adopt a child from China, I've made a pop up card for the Lunar(Chinese)New Year. We have waited three and a half years now with no end in sight. I created this pop up to commemorate the year of the rabbit upcoming on February 3, 2011. I love the whimsical nature of rabbits and I imagine how fun it would be to hang out at a rabbit party. According to the Chinese zodiac Rabbits are sensitive, popular and of course, lucky. This book is dedicated to my husband, he is after all a rabbit. Maybe this will be a lucky year for him and therefore us.

Star book with four spreads, made to be tied open as a sculptural object that can be viewed from 360°. Paper cuts and hand drawn illustrations utilizing, art papers, card stock, and water color pencil. 8 pages. 6.125 x 7.125 inches. 2011. Unique.
