INDUSTRIAL by R D Burton

$600.00
Decaying industrial sites can be found beside many roads of America. These mills, factories, foundries, and plants are barely running. Workers will soon be gone, along with a way of life. Rust and silence will be all they produce. My books explore the layers of consciousness and sub consciousness through which travel is experienced. I am intrigued by the concept of travel - movement from one physical point to another, travel through time, space and place. The majority of my imagery is based on my own photography as well as some vintage ephemera. The images are combined with various book structures to create a harmonious whole. Computer software are used to alter and manipulate the images. The books are inkjet printed on a wide variety of papers. The books are hand cut and assembled using many traditional and non-traditional bookmaking techniques.
